Pre-warning, Spring & Summer outfits usually look much the same with me. When I was younger I was soo embarrassed by my pale skin (I'm talking, my legs looked transparent) that I used to cover them up in summer with stockings, pants or boots. It used to drive my parents crazy because they knew how uncomfortably hot I felt, but I was more comfortable being overheated than showing off those white pins, trust me! As I got older I discovered fake tan, so now the habit of covering my legs has faded, but I still enjoy wearing boots, it's just become apart of my personal style.
In summer I tend to opt for a cute sheer dress in with boots, sneakers or sandals, which worked perfectly when we headed back to LA as it would be quite warm during the day and then a bit more fresh as the sun went down (which was at 4pm FYI!)
I picked up this little sheer blue dress from Runway Scout just before we left and have gotten so much wear out of it. I love the cute abstract floral print and the sheer sleeves. It does have a tassle detail on the end of the sleeves, however they got a bit annoying and always fell in my food, so I ended up tying them up and tucking them into my sleeves most of the time, I actually think they can be removed though. For a different look I have even half tucked the dress into jeans as a long top/smock and leather jacket for a cooler weather look. Super versatile, my kind of piece! And of coarse, my trusty Dior boots. I was tossing up whether or not to travel with them in fear they would get lost in transit and I would just have to die, but the bigger part of me couldn't leave them behind.
Stay tuned for the final instalment of my OOTD Holiday Series, Autumn, coming soon!
